Nelambos LLC is a biotech start up with a focus on developing a simple, diagnostic assay for the early detection of urinary tract infections (UTIs). Urinary tract infections are one of the most common bacterial infections and approximately 150 million individuals are affected each year worldwide with the prevalence being higher in women. UTIs are also a major concern in the elderly and can lead to UTI-associated sepsis requiring hospitalization. By detecting the infection earlier on and seeking medical attention more serious consequences such as sepsis and hospitalization can be reduced.
